Apparently, during the filming of this scene, the ailing Pete Postlethwaite (who was featured in the In Memoriam segment at the Academy Awards tonight) told Cillian Murphy between takes, “I’m on my way out.” This was something few people knew at the time—Cillian broke down upon hearing this. Robert Fischer’s crying onscreen is actually Cillian crying in real life.
Just let the enormity of what’s going on here slowly sink in.

People say Tumblr is a waste of time. I disagree. In 20 years, I’m going to be able to sit down with my husband, type in my old Tumblr URL and say, “Baby, this is who I was at 18.
